Self-care is not about self-indulgence, it’s about self-preservation.
Lately, I’ve been living in my head a lot trying to stay motivated and positive therefore I found that Sundays are very important for me to prepare for the new week. Instead of Brunching like I enjoy doing on Sundays – I’ve been sleeping in or relaxing in bed all day. Developing a Sunday regimen and recharging has made a world of difference with me preparing for the new week.
At times we get caught up with the busyness of our world that we forget to take care of ourselves, love ourselves up or simply taking five minutes to breathe. I know if we don’t take care of ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually, we cannot possibly take care of another human being or truly be of any use to ourselves.
Loving me and taking care of me has always been a priority for me…it’s only in the past few months I haven’t been great to me which has made me unhappy, unmotivated and less grateful than I should be. I’ve realized that the older I get and the truer I am to me, loving and caring for me is the best thing I can do for me and the world.
I urge you to make YOU a priority this week, take an hour for yourself daily and do something for you. Ask what it is that I need and then make sure you receive it…because we completely deserve it and we’re worthy.
Happy Monday – Have an amazing week.
